Knitting and bamboo work are two very different crafts traditionally. Their combination compliments their contrasting properties and characteristics. Knitting as a technique allows the fabric to curl and stretch. The addition of bamboo sticks while knitting each row provides stiffness and structure, allowing the fabric to stretch in a specific way creating a collapsible structure. This technique also makes a unique textile joinery that contracts and expands.
